Frequently Asked Questions
How do I verify my email?
After creating your account, we send a verification email to the address you provided. Click the link in that email to verify. If you didn't receive it, check your spam folder or request a new one from the app's settings. You must verify your email before you can post rants or comments.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings in the app and select "Delete Account." You'll be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, your account will be deactivated immediately and all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
How does moderation work?
Every rant and comment passes through AI pre-screening before publishing. The community can also report content that violates our guidelines. Content with multiple reports is hidden and sent to human review. Our moderation team reviews flagged content within 24 hours. You can appeal any moderation decision through the app.
What can I rant about?
Hate City has four categories: Products, Services, Celebrities, and Politicians. You can express your personal opinions and share your experiences. Criticism of public figures must relate to their public role. Hate speech, threats, harassment, doxxing, and defamation are not permitted.
What is a "Me Too"?
Instead of a traditional "like" button, Hate City uses "Me Too" — a way to say "I feel the same way" about someone's complaint. It's a statement of solidarity, not approval.
What is Rage Pass?
Rage Pass is our optional premium subscription that gives you unlimited daily rants, custom profile themes, analytics on your rants, priority in the trending algorithm, and an ad-free experience. Free users can post up to 10 rants per day.
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to your device's Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions to view, change, or cancel your Rage Pass subscription.
How do I report content?
Tap the three-dot menu (•••) on any rant, comment, or user profile and select "Report." Choose the appropriate reason and add any additional details. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
How do I block or mute someone?
Visit the user's profile and tap "Block" or "Mute." Blocking prevents all interaction between you in both directions. Muting simply hides their content from your feed without them knowing.
I was banned. How do I appeal?
If your account or content was actioned by our moderation team, you'll receive a notification with the reason. You can submit one appeal per action through the app. Appeals are reviewed within 48 hours by a different moderator.
