NorseHorse ("we," "us," "our") operates Hate City. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: Email address, username, password (hashed), date of birth
• Profile information: Avatar photo, bio text
• User content: Rants, comments, photos you upload, reports you submit
• Communications: Support requests, appeal submissions

Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
• Usage data: Features used, content viewed, interaction patterns, timestamps
• Push notification tokens: For delivering notifications to your device
• Log data: IP address, browser type, access times, referring URLs

Information from Third Parties

• Apple Sign In: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, optionally, your email address and name

2. AI Content Moderation

Hate City uses artificial intelligence to moderate user-generated content before it is published. When you submit a rant, comment, or photo, the content is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service for automated review.

What is sent: The text of your rant or comment, the category you selected, and any photos you attach. Your email address, username, and other personal information are NOT sent to the AI service.

Purpose: Content is screened solely for violations of our Community Guidelines, including hate speech, threats of violence, doxxing, spam, and prohibited imagery (nudity, CSAM, violence). The AI does not profile you, build advertising models, or use your content for training.

Third-party provider: We use Anthropic (Claude AI). Content sent for moderation is processed under Anthropic's API terms, which prohibit using API inputs for model training. Anthropic may retain content temporarily for safety monitoring (up to 30 days) per their data retention policy.

Your rights: If you do not wish your content to be processed by AI, you may choose not to post. All content moderation is automated; no human reviews your content unless it is flagged for manual review.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To verify your email address
• To display your content within the App
• To moderate content and enforce our Community Guidelines
• To send push notifications you have opted into
• To process subscription purchases
• To respond to support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• To generate anonymized, aggregate analytics about platform usage

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Public content: Your username, avatar, rants, and comments are visible to other users
• Service providers: We may use third-party services for email delivery, analytics, and content moderation (AI screening)
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order
• Safety: We may disclose information to prevent harm, investigate violations, or protect rights

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is purged within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely. Content removed by moderation is retained for 90 days for appeal purposes, then permanently deleted.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), bcrypt password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

All Users

• Access your personal data via the App (Settings > Account)
• Correct inaccurate information by editing your profile
• Delete your account and associated data at any time
• Control push notification preferences

California Residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact support@hate.city.

European Residents (GDPR)

If applicable, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (operating the service) and consent (where applicable). Contact support@hate.city to exercise these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

Hate City is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete that account and associated data promptly.

8. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
